'The major shift now emerging in the New Zealand Commercial sector is adapting all sectors of business to embrace new technologies.
Information Systems have grown exponentially in this country over the last 10 years. The demand now, is on having the latest hardware, software and support specialists available. The end user now requires more services be at arms reach, to help keep their Industries up and running and moving forward. This being a major thrust in the ever evolving changing Office Environments.
Cloud Services being just one example of where CIO and CTO management are driving their companies to move toward.
'Smart Technologies' have entered our Office Environments. Driving change to how we work and the way our workplace buildings need to adapt. New builds are focussing on smart devices that will automate some of the services of the past, these were the manual jobs that were keeping our work environment 'People Needy'.
With solar energy now focussing on the mundane powering of lighting, general power point use and door entrees, smarter devices as UPS and other power generators are more commonly relied upon in the 24/7 demand that servers and computer systems (including camera surviellance) remain running without hindrance. Allowing automated system backups to run and disaster recovery plans continuing to evolve.
The move to recruit people with specialist computer skills, help to address the changing needs of today's business world, dramatically moving our current and prospective employees toward more advanced computer skills training. This driving force has lead us to believe we now need to offer customised training in these required areas quite specific within an Industry type.
Many school leavers exit the school system with the fundamentals of computer skills. Due to the high number seeking to enter tertiary Institutes to gain specific skills in business, little time is spent covering skills required for the Windows and Mac environments now common place in our workforce.'
